Holiday Home Rental in Burgundy, France

One of the main reasons that Burgundy is a popular destination in France is because the region is famous for its wonderful wines and spectacular cuisine.

The region is located in the center of France, and if you are driving here, there are plenty of options available using the excellent network of French roads. If you prefer to sit back and relax en route to your holiday, then you can take the Eurostar to Paris and the TGV onward to Dijon, the capital of Burgundy, in just a few hours.

Houses to rent in Burgundy with between 2 and 4 bedrooms are the most popular types of holiday rental. I have conducted some research into both and I came across a charming 2 bedroom cottage which has been recently renovated and is very nicely furnished. It is full of character and offers all the necessary appliances you could need to make your holiday as comfortable as possible.

If you need a larger property, how about a stunning country house with a pool. This property has 3 large double rooms and 1 large twin room and a new kitchen with modern appliances. The lounge has 3 sofas, ensuring there is enough space for everyone to relax, whilst the garden has an outdoor heated pool, a stunning garden with a patio, barbecue, and an outside dining area.

With so much choice and so much to offer, it’s no wonder houses to rent here are so popular.

Whilst staying in Burgundy, you must take the opportunity to experience the culinary delights that this wonderful department has to offer, including Coq au Vin, Beef Bourguignon, Charollais beef, Jambon Persille, and Bleu de Bresse cheese. The cuisine in Burgundy is rich in flavor, due to the region’s heavy red wine and the breed of cattle from the region, known as Charollais. Perhaps the most famous red and white wines from the region are Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, but with so much choice of excellent wines, you can try to make your own mind up about which wine is the best.

The region of Burgundy spreads across 4 “departements”: Cote d’Or; Nievre; Saone et Loire; and Yonne. The largest communities in the region include Beaune, Dijon and Maçon, with Dijon being the capital of the region.

There is a wealth of places to visit during your stay in the region. If you like architecture, you must visit the splendid abbey at Fontenay, a world heritage site and one of the oldest Cistercian abbeys in France.

Many breathtakingly beautiful chateaux in the region are open to visitors and offer the most elegant gardens and parkland. The region also boasts some wonderful flora and fauna, and a visit to Morvan Forest in the center of the region will not disappoint any tourist to the area.

If you like an active holiday, there is plenty for you here. Cycling, ballooning, canal cruising, golf, quad biking, and more. Many of these sporting pursuits can be carried out amid the stunning backdrop of a wonderful landscape.

This is a wonderful region with many truly beautiful places to visit, charming places to stay, and delicious food and wine, so wherever you select for your holiday rental in Burgundy, you are certain to be delighted.
